Prayer Appeal for the people of Nepal
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In recent days, our hearts have been heavy as we receive news of the catastrophic floods and landslides that have devastated parts of Nepal, particularly along the Himalayan border regions. A sudden wave of water, mud, ice and debris has swept through villages and valleys, claiming hundreds of lives, leaving thousands missing, and displacing tens of thousands more. Homes, bridges, roads and livelihoods have been destroyed. Families are searching for loved ones. Survivors face trauma, uncertainty and urgent needs for food, shelter, clean water and medical care. As a Nepali Christian fellowship here in Oxford, we feel this deeply. Nepal is our homeland, and many of us have family, friends and fellow believers who are affected or live in fear of further danger. We cannot remain silent or inactive while our people suffer. We therefore urgently appeal to you to join us in prayer. Please pray: • For God’s comfort and strength for every grieving family who has lost loved ones. • For the safe rescue of those still missing, and for protection over all search-and-rescue teams working in difficult and dangerous conditions. • For the injured, the displaced, the elderly, the children and the vulnerable—that the Lord would provide shelter, food, clean water, medical help and emotional healing. • For wisdom and courage for the Nepali government, army, police, Red Cross, churches and all relief workers on the ground. • For protection from further flooding or landslides, and for the weather to allow rescue and aid efforts to continue. • That the Church in Nepal would rise as a source of hope, practical help and the love of Christ in this time of crisis. • That many would turn to the Lord Jesus, the One who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We also invite you to stand with us in practical compassion. If the Lord leads you to give toward relief efforts, please contact the church leadership so that we may channel support wisely through trusted partners working in Nepal. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) Let us not grow weary in doing good. Let us lift up Nepal before the throne of grace with one heart and one voice. May the God of all comfort draw near to every suffering heart, and may His name be glorified even in the midst of this storm. “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 In Christ’s love and service, Newlife Church Oxford (Naya Jiwan Church)

New Life Church Celebrated 2025 Christmas
New Life Church concluded an impactful 2025 christmas with a heartfelt Celebration 2025 gathering, drawing hundreds of members and visitors to worship, share testimonies, and give thanks for a year marked by transformed lives and strengthened faith.
Held on 21 December 2025 at Cowley, the special event featured dynamic worship, a powerful message from Elder Chandra, and moving stories of how God worked in the church and wider community throughout the year. Attendees reflected deeply on themes of peace, harmony, and God’s sustaining presence.
The church celebrated a year filled with evidence of God’s faithfulness—lives changed, families restored, and a congregation growing in love for Jesus and for one another. Celebration 2025 became a moment to praise God for all He has done and to look ahead with renewed hope and expectant faith for the year to come.

We are a group of Christian youths from New Life church, and we’re excited to share that we’re running our very first 10K to raise funds for something close to our hearts: providing essential kits and home-cooked meals to the homeless.
